قصــــةُ ٌقصــــيرـة: مستوى بين متوسط ومبتدئ

A warning sign on the beach read “Be careful of the rip currents.” And a person who was not able to read English saw it but did not understand any meaning of it, so he continued going to swim. He was me, and I was going to sink and die because of that. That was really an unforgettable experience for me and for my cousin who was with me.
The story begins when we went to Melbourne Beach at a time no one else was there, and we had no idea why. Eagerly, we changed our clothes and jumped right into the beach. I tried to lie on my back and let the sea control me. Since I was enjoying myself so much, I did not notice that the rip currents had pulled me so far away from the shore. Then, I heard my cousin yelling for me to come back to the coast, but the only thing I could see was the blueness of the ocean and the sky. Immediately, I realized why nobody was there. I did not know which direction the coast was, and on the top of that I had my glasses to worry about. I had them held in one hand while trying to swim. I was swimming by only one hand and drinking so much water. After struggling for some minutes to survive, I sacrificed by throwing my glasses away. I just saw my death imminent, and I surrendered; amazingly, a very big wave slapped me on my face and threw me onto the beach. I looked like I was buried half way in the sand. Seeing as I spent so much energy struggling to get to shore, it took me half an hour to get back up on feet.
When I woke up after all these events, I found out that I swallowed too much salt water, lost my glasses and could not see easily due to all the salt in my eyes. At the end, I thanked God for rescuing me. I also promised myself that I will not go to swim at a beach unless I read and understand all the warning signs and instructions posted.
